Piano Lessons Online and in Person

Lesson Times:
Students will have one private lesson each week. If the student is a beginner, the lessons will last 30 minutes each. If the student shows exceptional progress or already has some knowledge of piano, the lessons will last 45 minutes each. If all parties agree, an option of a lesson that will last for 1 hour will be available.

Group Lessons:
In addition to private lessons, I also offer group lessons. During the school year, these lessons are held once a week and focus on teaching the students fundamentals of music theory, mainly through various games. Following the same principles, there are music camps during the summer (5-day camp) and major holidays (2 to 3-day camp). The group lessons do not require prior music experience and give kids a fun opportunity to learn fundamental theory and make new friends.

Place:
Lesson will be given online or in person.

Payment:
The first lesson is free and then we'll meet for 30 minutes at the same day/time each week, and the cost is $40/30 minute lesson (options are $58/45 minute lesson, $75/60 minute lesson) with registration. You can contact me or register online here. After that, payments will be made monthly. Payments for the month will be due at the first lesson of the month.

Students' age:
It is never late to start playing piano. I will be happy to help anyone. Most of my students are 6 to 15 years old. I also have experience with 4-5 year old children. For students at this age I suggest to have a lesson and see if they can participate and cooperate in the lesson. My first lesson is free.

Missed Lessons:
I'm using MyMusicStaff software where parents can schedule or cancel lessons themselfs prior 24 hours. Then a make-up credit can be used at any time

Materials and books:
I am using different method books. My favourites are Alfred's Premier Piano Course and Faber Piano Adventures series. In my opinion they are perfect combination of teaching music reading, performance technique, and wonderful repertoire. If you have other preferences, I will be happy to follow your recommendations.

Practice:
Practicing at home is the best guarantee that your child will show consistent progress. Please make sure that there is a 20-minute time period daily during which the child can practice without being distracted by TV, stereo, etc.

Summer Schedule:
A flexible schedule will be available during the summer based on your child’s summer plans.
